On February 17, 2009, full power analog broadcasting will end, and analog-only televisions may be unable to display full power broadcast programming unless the viewer takes action. Analog-only televisions that are not connected to a subscription television service such as CTC TV, cable, or satellite service may need additional equipment or may have to be replaced. You can get more information about the converter box program by going to www.dtv2009.gov or by calling the NTIA at 1-888-DTV-2009. No action is necessary if you are a subscriber of a subscription television service, including CTC Television.
A High School Junior will have an opportunity for an all-expense paid Washington D.C. Youth Tour, sponsored by CTC. Students applying for the tour must be high school juniors and have telephone or internet service from CTC.
Each student is required to write a short essay on the telecommunications industry or the benefit of belonging to a Cooperative. Look for applications and additional information at area school guidance offices or by contacting CTC at (218) 454-1234 or 800-753-9104 in December 2008.
Winter Wonderland is back for 2009 and promises to deliver holiday spirit to the entire family this holiday season. CTC is proud to sponsor a light display once again this year. The FAN 1380 AM of Brainerd hosted the PA and Dubay show at Buffalo Wild Wings in Baxter. CTC was able to be a part of the show by delivering High Speed Internet service for the show's broadcast connection. Paul Allen of The FAN and the voice of the Minnesota Vikings interviewed Adrian Peterson and Ziggy Wilf of the Vikings.
